Accountant – Fintech Company

About the role

A fintech company based in Accra is looking for an accountant to handle general ledger, reconciliations, receivables and payables, and treasury-related bank reconciliations. The position is advertised by JobHouse Recruitment Agency.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and review general ledger activities and account reconciliations.
• Monitor receivables and payables, including ageing reports.
• Support payment processing, approvals and financial controls.
• Handle treasury activities and reconciliations involving multiple banks, partners and settlement counterparties.
• Support month-end closing and ensure financial records are accurate and complete.
• Work with ERP/accounting systems and large financial datasets.
• Prepare accurate financial and management reports.

Required profile

• First degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of a final-stage professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, ICAG, CIMA or equivalent.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, general ledger management, AP/AR and reconciliations.
• Treasury experience is required.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple partner reconciliations and take ownership of tasks through to completion.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills.
• Practical experience using ERP/accounting systems; QuickBooks experience is an advantage.
• Experience in fintech, telecommunications, mobile money or payment settlement operations is an added advantage.
