Akan Language Specialist – Remote (Hourly)

About the role

We are seeking an Akan Language Specialist to support the development and refinement of AI‑driven language models. Working remotely, you will apply your native‑level Akan proficiency to ensure high‑quality translation, localization, and linguistic data creation for English‑Akan projects.

Key responsibilities

• Translate and localize written content between Akan and English, preserving cultural nuances.
• Edit, proofread, and standardize Akan language materials for clarity and consistency.
• Provide linguistic insights and feedback to train and evaluate AI language models.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define language standards and guidelines.
• Develop and curate Akan language datasets for NLP and AI applications.
• Maintain high‑quality written and verbal communication in Akan across all deliverables.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of language resources and workflow processes.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Akan with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in translation, editing, or linguistic analysis.
• Deep understanding of Akan grammar, cultural context, and language nuances.
• Ability to give clear feedback to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Self‑motivated and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
