Associate Professor, Computing & Information Systems

About the role

The Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) seeks a qualified Associate Professor to join its Faculty of Computing and Information Systems. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and community service within one of the department’s specialisations, such as Mobile and Pervasive Computing, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Science.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate lectures and tutorials.
• Supervise student projects, theses, and dissertations.
• Develop and lead research programmes aligned with the faculty’s strategic goals.
• Participate in curriculum design, assessment, and continuous improvement.
• Engage in community outreach and professional service activities.
• Contribute to faculty development and university governance.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, ICT).
• Current appointment as Associate Professor at a recognised university, or a Senior Lecturer with at least four years of experience and a record of promotion eligibility.
• Minimum of ten peer‑reviewed publications in recognised journals.
• Evidence of scholarly impact and teaching excellence.
• Three professional referees willing to provide references.
