Business Development Manager – Mining Software (Hunter)

About the role

As a Business Development Manager (Hunter) you will own new‑business growth across Ghana and the wider West African region. You will proactively identify and engage prospective customers, build a strong sales pipeline and convert qualified leads into long‑term partnerships for Deswik’s mining software and consulting solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Drive new business growth by identifying, qualifying and pursuing leads across Ghana and West Africa.
• Build, manage and convert a strong sales pipeline, generating momentum and revenue opportunities.
• Develop Deswik’s brand presence by attending trade shows and leading regional lead‑generation activities.
• Engage prospective customers to understand operational challenges and propose software and consulting solutions.
• Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, identifying renewal and upsell opportunities.
• Prepare proposals, support commercial discussions and collaborate with internal teams to close deals.
• Partner with consulting, software and regional sales teams to deliver demonstrations, training and customer support.

Required profile

• At least five years of business development or sales experience in mining software, mining technology or related technical solutions.
• Proven “hunter” mindset with ability to generate leads, build pipeline and convert opportunities.
• Strong understanding of mining operations and the value of technology solutions.
• Mining engineering background is highly regarded, especially when combined with software sales experience.
• Excellent relationship‑building and commercial awareness, with ability to align solutions to customer needs.
• Fluent in English; French language capability is an advantage.
• Proactive, resilient and self‑driven working style, able to work independently while staying connected to global teams.
