Business Development Manager – Steel Trading (Ghana)

About the role

We are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to drive growth across Ghana’s steel market. You will identify high‑value opportunities in products such as HRC, CRC, GI and PPGI, and build a pipeline that expands our market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and technical consultation to contract negotiation, closing, and long‑term account management.
• Analyse Ghanaian market dynamics, import regulations, competitor positioning and demand patterns to create localized sales strategies.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics and Finance teams to navigate customs processes and ensure seamless order fulfillment.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with existing clients while aggressively expanding market share to exceed sales targets.
• Represent the company at major Ghanaian trade events and industry associations to boost brand visibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
• Fluent English for business communication.
• Minimum 3 years of international steel trading experience with a proven import/export track record.
• Strong negotiation abilities, commercial acumen and an established network within the Ghanaian steel industry.
• Self‑starter, resilient, able to work independently and comfortable with frequent travel and occasional regional trips.
