Cardiac Physiologist

About the role

We are seeking a Cardiac Physiologist to join the new Bank Hospital in Accra. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred cardiac diagnostic services and supporting physicians in the assessment and treatment of cardiovascular conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain procedure rooms before, between and after cases.
• Perform invasive and non‑invasive cardiovascular tests including ECG, treadmill stress tests, blood pressure and heart‑rate monitoring, ultrasound and echocardiography.
• Operate and calibrate specialised equipment such as cardiac ultrasound scanners and intra‑aortic balloon pumps.
• Select and adjust pacemakers or ICDs for surgical insertion and monitor patients post‑procedure.
• Provide long‑term follow‑up for patients with heart valve disease or prosthetic valves.
• Document test results, generate physiological reports and communicate findings to cardiologists and surgeons.
• Ensure equipment functionality, troubleshoot breakdowns and perform routine maintenance.

Required profile

• Degree in healthcare science, biomedical science or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a hospital cardiac department.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Professional, calm and caring attitude when interacting with patients.
