Challenge Fund Grant Officer

About the role

The Challenge Fund Grant Officer will support DAI’s five‑year programme aimed at improving staple food production and trade across Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Niger. Based in Accra, the officer will manage a challenge fund that finances innovative agribusiness models and contribute to a policy facility that provides evidence and advocacy for market‑friendly reforms.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the challenge fund, including reviewing grant proposals, approving allocations, and monitoring performance.
• Coordinate with partners and stakeholders in Ghana, Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Niger to ensure effective implementation of funded projects.
• Prepare financial and impact reports for donors and senior management.
• Support the policy facility by gathering data, conducting analysis, and drafting advocacy materials.
• Travel to project sites in the region to assess progress and provide technical assistance.

Required profile

• Fluency in both French and English.
• Experience in grant or fund management within an international development context.
• Knowledge of agricultural markets and trade dynamics in West Africa.
• Ability to work across multiple countries and cultures.
