Chief Housekeeper

About the role

The Chief Housekeeper leads the entire housekeeping operation on a cruise vessel, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, efficient, and personalized butler and cleaning services for guests and crew. The role focuses on maintaining impeccable standards across guest suites, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces while upholding public health regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all housekeeping activities, guaranteeing superior service quality and guest satisfaction.
• Conduct regular walkthroughs of the ship to identify and resolve any issues promptly.
• Interact proactively with guests to anticipate and fulfill their expectations.
• Manage the housekeeping team’s schedule, training, and performance, ensuring fair and transparent practices.
• Handle guest requests, enquiries, and complaints swiftly and follow up to ensure resolution.
• Monitor guest satisfaction metrics, review comment cards, and implement improvements.
• Perform VIP and suite checks at embarkation and conduct random inspections.
• Maintain confidential employee records and ensure compliance with public health standards.
• Prepare cruise reports, manage complaint logs, and control operational costs.
• Collaborate with HR on personnel matters, staffing plans, and training needs.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in housekeeping, preferably in a hospitality or cruise environment.
• Strong people‑management skills with the ability to coach and motivate a diverse team.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high service standards.
• Ability to handle guest complaints and resolve issues efficiently.
• Good organizational and administrative abilities.
