CIC Technician – Process Plant

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, fully mechanized operation. The CIC Technician – Process Plant will be responsible for maintaining and refurbishing the plant’s control and instrumentation systems across day and night shifts, ensuring safe and compliant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Work in compliance with Ghana government agencies, environmental, health & safety legislation and AGAG regulations.
• Perform day and night shift maintenance of all Process Plant CIC equipment during refurbishment and later maintenance.
• Conduct periodic audits and reviews of refurbishment and maintenance activities to identify continuous‑improvement actions.
• Execute routine condition‑monitoring checks including visual inspections, infrared, ultrasonic, motor current, flux, and simple NDT data collection.
• Analyze and trend predictive‑maintenance data (vibration, IR, etc.) to assess plant condition and report required actions.
• Generate work requests in SAP for refurbishment, maintenance and repair planning.
• Monitor the physical condition of CIC assets, execute repairs on instrumentation, communication and control equipment, and ensure rotating equipment monitoring is performed using advanced portable data collectors.
• Participate in maintenance review programmes and root‑cause failure analysis of CIC equipment.
• Identify and implement cost‑reduction initiatives and propose cost‑saving projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, monitor equipment performance on the asset health system, and take proactive measures to address issues.
