CIC Technician – Process Plant

About the role

The CIC Technician – Process Plant will support the refurbishment and ongoing maintenance of the Process Plant at the Obuasi Gold Mine. Reporting to the CIC Supervisor, you will work day and night shifts to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation of control and instrumentation systems.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Ghanaian government regulations, environmental, health and safety legislation, and AGAG standards.
• Gather and report performance data to the CIC Supervisor.
• Conduct periodic audits and reviews of refurbishment and maintenance activities.
• Execute condition‑monitoring checks (visual, infrared, ultrasonic, motor current, flux, simple NDT) on a scheduled basis.
• Analyze predictive‑maintenance data (vibration, IR, etc.) and report plant condition.
• Generate SAP work requests for maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Monitor physical condition of CIC assets, perform corrective actions, and coordinate contractor activities.
• Participate in root‑cause failure analysis and propose cost‑reduction initiatives.

• Proactive attitude toward continuous improvement and cost optimisation.

Required skills

• Condition monitoring techniques (visual, infrared thermography, ultrasonic testing).
• Motor current and flux data collection.
• Simple non‑destructive testing (NDT) and calibration verification.
• Vibration analysis and predictive‑maintenance data trending.
• SAP work request creation and maintenance planning.
• Use of advanced portable data collectors for rotating equipment.
• Root‑cause failure analysis and cost‑reduction project implementation.
