Commercial Analyst – Processing & Trading Operations

About the role

We are looking for a Commercial Analyst to support our oil refinery processing and trading operations in Ghana. The role sits at the centre of the refinery processing agreement, coordinating information flow across Trading, Technical, Operations, Risk, Finance and Sales teams. You will gain exposure to physical oil trading, refinery economics and senior‑level decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the central coordination point for all functions involved in the refinery processing agreement, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange.
• Monitor the crude‑to‑products value chain, identify bottlenecks, delays or risks, and proactively address them.
• Analyse refinery performance, product yields, inventories, sales commitments and operational data to uncover trends and optimisation opportunities.
• Produce daily, weekly, monthly and ad‑hoc reports and dashboards covering processing, inventories, yields, exposures and profitability.
• Maintain accurate operational and commercial inputs for risk, exposure and hedging calculations.
• Collaborate with internal and external service providers to enhance reporting and business‑intelligence tools.

Required profile

• Energetic, curious and commercially minded with a strong desire to learn the physical oil and refining business.
• Comfortable working across multiple departments and taking ownership of complex analytical tasks.
• Proactive mindset with strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify risks and optimisation opportunities before they impact performance.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in commercial analysis, trading operations or related fields.
