Communications National Service Personnel (NSP)

About the role

The African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) seeks a Communications National Service Personnel (NSP) to support its communications, knowledge management and advocacy team for one year. The role offers hands‑on experience in digital media, content creation and policy communication within a multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and upload weekly social media content, monitor engagement and suggest ways to boost reach.
• Design digital assets such as event flyers and staff welcome cards using Canva.
• Manage technical delivery of Zoom webinars, including speaker links and live support.
• Curate and format the quarterly newsletter via Mailchimp, ensuring brand consistency.
• Maintain the publications database and update ACET’s Wikipedia pages.
• Assist with event logistics, guest and media lists, and send invitations using Mailchimp or mail‑merge.
• Update media contacts, monitor coverage and keep the team’s activity tracker current.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in communications, digital content creation or social media management (internships or volunteer work accepted).
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading abilities with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, WordPress, Mailchimp).
• Design tools: Canva (Adobe Creative Suite a plus).
• Webinar platforms: Zoom (setup and live support).
• Basic video editing tools (Canva, CapCut).
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and website platforms (e.g., WordPress).
