Compliance and Regulatory Manager (AMLRO)

About the role

The Compliance and Regulatory Manager will serve as the designated Anti‑Money Laundering Reporting Officer (AMLRO) and lead the company’s regulatory and compliance function. This senior position ensures full adherence to Ghanaian AML/CFT legislation and fintech regulatory frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the official AMLRO in line with the Anti‑Money Laundering Act, 2020 and Bank of Ghana directives.
• Identify, investigate and file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) with the Financial Intelligence Centre.
• Prepare and submit periodic regulatory returns, reports and compliance updates within prescribed timelines.
• Maintain end‑to‑end compliance with the Payment Systems and Services Act, 2019 and evolving fintech/payment regulations.
• Develop, implement and regularly update AML/CFT policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Conduct institutional risk assessments and advise senior management and the Board on emerging regulatory risks.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the Bank of Ghana, FIC and other regulators.
• Design and deliver mandatory AML/CFT training and awareness programs for staff.
• Monitor local and global regulatory changes and provide impact analyses.
• Support additional compliance projects as assigned by senior executives.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of progressive experience in compliance, legal or risk roles within fintech, mobile money, remittance or banking in Ghana.
• Proven experience interacting with Ghanaian regulators, especially the Bank of Ghana and FIC.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management or related field.
• Professional certification such as CAMS, ICA diploma or equivalent.
