Consultant – Climate‑Sensitive Disease Reporting & AI Analytics

About the role
The Joint UNDP–WHO programme seeks a consultant to develop and integrate climate‑sensitive disease reporting and AI‑driven analytics into Ghana's national Health Management Information System (HMIS). The role supports capacity building across national, regional and district health teams, ensuring data‑driven decision‑making for diseases such as meningitis, cholera and malaria.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement disaggregated reporting modules for climate‑sensitive diseases within the DHIS2 platform.
- Develop AI analytics pipelines to generate early‑warning indicators and forecast disease trends.
- Collaborate with the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service to align data collection with national priorities.
- Provide hands‑on training and mentorship to health professionals on analytics tools and data governance.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy, security standards and ethical AI guidelines.
Required profile
- Proven experience in health informatics, especially with DHIS2 or similar HMIS platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to develop AI or advanced analytics solutions for public‑health data.
- Familiarity with climate‑sensitive disease surveillance and the Ghana health system.
- Strong track record of capacity‑building and stakeholder engagement in low‑resource settings.
