Consultant Pathologist (Full-time)

About the role

The Consultant Pathologist will lead diagnostic reporting and ensure end‑to‑end technical supervision across the laboratory. The role demands strict adherence to NABL/ISO standards, rapid turnaround times, and effective clinical correlation with clinicians.

Key responsibilities

• Validate and sign out pathological results, ensuring clinical relevance and timely release of critical reports.
• Monitor daily laboratory workflow, conduct shift planning, and optimize sample processing to meet turnaround time targets.
• Oversee quality management activities including IQC, EQAS, CAPA, SOP compliance, and internal audits.
• Supervise pre‑analytical processes, specimen handling, and sample logistics to maintain integrity and reduce re‑runs.
• Lead technical team training, competency assessments, and continuous education on SOPs and new test methods.
• Manage consumables, reagent inventories, instrument calibration, maintenance schedules, and cost control.
• Engage with clinicians and corporate partners to address queries, provide diagnostic guidance, and promote laboratory services.

Required profile

• Strong diagnostic judgment with ability to interpret complex test results in clinical context.
• Proven experience managing NABL/ISO‑based quality systems and regulatory compliance.
• Leadership skills to train, motivate and coordinate multidisciplinary laboratory teams.
• Analytical capability to review performance data (TAT, QC trends, consumables) and implement evidence‑based improvements.
• Comprehensive knowledge of pathology domains such as biochemistry, immunology, hematology, and microbiology.
