Controller, Savings & Investment

About the role

The Controller, Savings & Investment will lead the design, development and management of digital savings and investment products delivered through the MoMo app and USSD channels. Reporting to the Manager, Savings & Investment, the role coordinates partners, technology providers and internal teams to ensure seamless product integration and market launch.

Key responsibilities

• Support end‑to‑end product lifecycle from partner onboarding to launch, monitoring and optimisation.
• Conduct market and competitor research to identify product opportunities and gaps.
• Translate investment products into digital‑first offerings by working with fund managers, analysts and engineering teams.
• Define product requirements, customer journeys and track performance metrics such as uptake, AUM and retention.
• Prepare business cases, pricing recommendations and periodic performance reports.
• Liaise with compliance, risk, legal and technology teams to meet regulatory and risk requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience with exposure to fund management and investment research.
• Professional certification such as CFA I/II, ACCA or CISI is an advantage.
• Experience in fintech, asset management, banking or investment environments preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency for modelling and data analysis.
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
• Understanding of digital platforms, APIs, USSD and system integration concepts.
• Strong analytical and quantitative abilities to interpret financial and investment data.
