Creative Designer Intern

About the role

The DataZoba is seeking a Creative Designer Intern to help shape African data storytelling. This remote, part‑time role is open to first‑ and second‑year university students across Africa who are passionate about visual communication.

Key responsibilities

• Design layouts, illustrations, and visual systems for original data stories.
• Create infographics and data visualizations that simplify complex ideas.
• Contribute to the development of The DataZoba’s visual identity.
• Design social media content, presentations, and client‑facing materials.
• Collaborate with data and frontend teams on storytelling projects.
• Grow into a leadership role as the studio expands.

Required profile

• Strong design fundamentals and attention to detail.
• Interest in data visualization, information design, and storytelling.
• Curiosity about Africa and its diverse narratives.
• A portfolio that demonstrates creativity and problem‑solving.
• Willingness to learn and grow in a remote team environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Figma (required).
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (a plus).
