Credit Controller

About the role

The Credit Controller will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts receivable portfolio, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts and maintaining healthy debtor days. This role reports to the Accounts Receivable Manager and plays a key part in supporting the finance department’s cash flow objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Collect 100% of outstanding debt in line with weekly, monthly and annual targets.
• Maintain debtor days consistently at 30 days.
• Manage a portfolio of approximately 600 customers per month, monitoring and collecting receivables.
• Allocate customer payments accurately according to the company’s credit policy.
• Reduce the proportion of bad debts (over 180 days) within the total debt portfolio.
• Prevent new amounts from entering bad debt status each month.
• Maintain organized debtor records for easy retrieval.
• Process remittance advice and ensure proper allocation of payments.
• Send regular statements to clients and address any variances promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2‑4 years of solid experience in a commercial credit control or accounts receivable role.
