Credit Risk Specialist

About the role

Westpal Business Advisory is seeking a full‑time Credit Risk Specialist to join its team in Winneba. You will be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of existing and prospective clients, helping the firm manage credit exposure in a data‑driven manner.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements, cash‑flow projections and other relevant data to assess borrower risk.
• Determine, set or recommend appropriate credit limits for clients.
• Monitor credit portfolios for early warning signs of deterioration.
• Prepare clear, well‑structured credit reports and risk assessments for internal decision‑making.
• Maintain up‑to‑date client records and collaborate with finance and business‑development teams.
• Support the development and refinement of credit risk policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in credit and credit‑risk management with hands‑on experience evaluating borrowers.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, ratio interpretation and data‑driven risk decisions.
• Solid understanding of finance principles, financial statements and cash‑flow dynamics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across functions and manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for financial modeling.
• Financial analysis software/tools.
• Experience with risk or credit‑management systems (advantageous).
