About the role
The Database Administrator will manage Telecel Ghana's Oracle, MS SQL and other database platforms, providing technical support and ensuring reliable operation of the database estate.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and decision‑making for database environments, including servers, data‑centre configurations and daily DBA needs.
- Manage project deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrades and support of all IT database systems.
- Investigate and resolve escalated issues, review tests and integrations, and ensure proper documentation.
- Coordinate with key vendors and internal teams for long‑range planning and infrastructure strategy.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field (preferred).
- 3+ years of database administration experience, with at least 2 years in a technical management role.
- Strong understanding of IT systems and technologies.
Required skills
- Oracle database administration.
- MS SQL Server administration.
- Database clustering.
- Self‑Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology (SMART).
