Deputy Internal Auditor

About the role

The University seeks a dynamic, self‑motivated Deputy Internal Auditor to support the Director of Audit in overseeing all internal audit functions, financial management, and compliance with national regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Audit in managing the audit office in line with the Technical Universities Act, 2016 and related laws.
• Control and maintain financial transactions and accounting records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and government regulations.
• Review monthly and annual financial reports for accuracy and fiscal reporting.
• Prepare the operating budget, oversee multi‑year fiscal planning, and coordinate annual audits.
• Analyze budgets for the Director of Audit’s review.
• Plan, direct, and supervise audit personnel.
• Develop, implement, and maintain auditing and administrative policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum research Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Chartered Accountant membership (ACCA, ICA, CPA) or equivalent.
• At least six (6) years of senior internal audit experience in a university, industry, or public practice, including managerial responsibilities.
• Evidence of professional publications or position papers for external assessment.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and results‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
