Director of Allied Health Services

About the role

The Board of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) seeks a visionary leader to head its Allied Health Services. Reporting to senior hospital management, the Director will shape strategy, oversee operations, and ensure high‑quality clinical support across the institution.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and guide the development of short‑, medium‑, and long‑term plans and budgets for Allied Health Services.
• Develop and implement governance, infection‑control, and quality‑assurance systems.
• Support, monitor, and evaluate programs and projects to enhance clinical care effectiveness.
• Design systems for reviewing interventions, financing, and resource allocation.
• Lead the development and management of clinical information systems.
• Implement sustainable clinical‑care field programmes.
• Supervise technical support for Allied Health activities and partner implementations.
• Establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks to meet strategic goals.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Allied Health Science plus a first degree in a relevant Allied Health field.
• Specialty registration with the Ghana Allied Health Professionals Council.
• At least 10 years of Allied Health experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management role.
• Deputy Chief/Deputy Director grade or equivalent at the time of application.
• Certification in Health Leadership and Management or Public Administration.
• Demonstrated leadership, continuous professional development, and strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in report writing and computer literacy.
