Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor – Process Plant

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti Ghana is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine and seeks an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor for the Process Plant. The role reports to the E&I Superintendent and oversees installation, refurbishment and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑shift and night‑shift technicians in executing electrical, instrumentation and automation work safely and in compliance with Ghanaian and AGAG regulations.
• Coordinate with contractors and construction teams for refurbishment and planned works.
• Maintain and inspect fixed plant assets including crushers, conveyors, pumps, ball and SAG mills, vibrating screens, feeders, cranes, hoists, cyclones and tanks.
• Perform preventive‑maintenance inspections, motor disconnect/reconnect, VSD and PLC programming, and ensure the integrity of all equipment.
• Develop condition‑monitoring routes and checks for plant equipment in partnership with the E&I Superintendent.
• Assist engineering teams with energy‑management projects and support shutdown planning and execution.
• Interpret schematic drawings to diagnose and resolve electrical faults.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical and instrumentation work within a process‑plant or mining environment.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team, working both day and night call‑outs.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Willingness to attend training and continuous improvement programmes.
