Electrical Technician – Underground

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, fully mechanised underground operation. The company is looking for an experienced, self‑motivated Electrical Technician to carry out electrical maintenance and refurbishment of underground infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical maintenance on secondary fans, sub‑stations, and cable systems in a safe, compliant manner.
• Execute refurbishment tasks, including running and laying cables, and support planned maintenance activities.
• Conduct daily pre‑start checks of tools and equipment, report anomalies, and ensure all safety and environmental regulations are met.
• Provide data to the Maintenance Planner and close work orders in SAP upon completion.
• Collaborate with contractors and construction teams as directed.

Required profile

• Secondary education with a recognised electrical trade apprenticeship (e.g., City & Guilds).
• Minimum five (5) years post‑apprenticeship experience in an electrical trade.
• Familiarity with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical) Regulations.
• Fully literate and numerate.
