Employee Relations Manager – Manufacturing & Production

About the role

The Employee Relations Manager will act as the primary guardian of workplace harmony and legal compliance for a fast‑moving FMCG manufacturing and production environment in Ghana. Reporting to the HR Group, the role bridges management and staff, fostering engagement, resolving disputes and ensuring all labour practices align with Ghanaian law and company policy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the resolution of labour disputes, grievances and litigations to protect the company’s legal interests.
• Coordinate with the HR Business Partner Manager on employee communication, engagement initiatives and disciplinary actions.
• Maintain professional relationships with local labour departments, insurance institutions and government authorities.
• Oversee reporting and tracking of work‑related injuries and manage insurance claim processing.
• Plan and implement corporate culture activities that enhance employee cohesion and belonging.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources Management, Law or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 + years experience in Human Resources or Employee Relations management, preferably with specialised ER experience.
• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian labour laws, union policies and related legal regulations.
• Proven ability to handle labour disputes and public‑relations crises.
• Excellent cross‑cultural communication, organisational coordination and problem‑solving skills.
