Field Officer – Agricultural Development

About the role

The Sustainability Management Services (SMS) team is looking for a self‑motivated Field Officer to support the implementation of its agricultural development programme in the Ofoase district. Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will work directly with farmers, local partners and government officers to advance rural prosperity in the cocoa region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the district’s annual work plan in line with SMS objectives.
• Supervise farmer‑focused programmes such as Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) and additional livelihood projects.
• Coordinate and oversee all certification audits and annual audits for the district.
• Organise and deliver training sessions for producers.
• Manage and support a team of Field Trainers, including performance assessment.
• Collaborate with Ministry of Food and Agriculture officers, research institutions and franchise holders.
• Prepare weekly progress reports and ensure the security of company assets.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Agriculture, Business, Economics, Development or a related field; a certificate in Agriculture is a plus.
• Fluency in English and the local language(s) of the district.
• Strong self‑motivation, ability to work independently and supervise teams.
• Willingness to travel within the designated district.
