Finance Officer

About the role

The Evangelical Presbyterian College of Education is seeking a qualified Finance Officer to lead its accounting function. This senior role will oversee all financial activities, ensuring compliance with institutional policies and relevant legislation while supporting the college’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the Chief Accounting Officer, supervising all accounting staff.
• Prepare the college’s annual budget and comprehensive financial statements.
• Control and monitor expenditures to align with approved budgets and legal requirements.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Provide financial guidance to senior management and support decision‑making processes.

Required profile

• A good first degree or comparable qualification plus a master’s level qualification in finance.
• Membership in a recognized accountancy professional association.
• Minimum of four (4) years experience as a Deputy Finance Officer or in a comparable senior finance role within a college of education or similar institution.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management.
• Experience in budget preparation and financial statement compilation.
• Ability to enforce financial controls and ensure regulatory compliance.
