Fleet Manager

About the role

The Fleet Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of a company‑owned vehicle fleet, ensuring safe, efficient and cost‑effective transport operations. This role is based in Ghana and requires close coordination with drivers, maintenance teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the fleet ledger, schedule annual inspections, coordinate maintenance and manage vehicle disposal.
• Lead driver recruitment, shift planning, safety training, attendance monitoring and incident accountability.
• Dispatch transport, monitor in‑transit status and guarantee on‑time cargo delivery.
• Control costs related to fuel, maintenance, insurance, tolls and road fees.
• Handle traffic accidents and cargo damage, prepare claim documentation and follow up insurance compensation.
• Archive transport, customs clearance and maintenance records; produce monthly operation reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Minimum 10 years of practical management experience with self‑owned fleets; experience with >100 vehicles preferred.
• Valid truck driving licence is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, insurance procedures and accident claims.
• Excellent communication, coordination and risk‑prevention abilities.
• Good English reading and writing skills; familiarity with Ghana traffic regulations and customs freight rules.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
