Forklift Mechanic

About the role

The company is looking for a skilled Forklift Mechanic to inspect, service, maintain and repair forklifts and other material‑handling equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and transmission faults and conduct routine preventive maintenance.
• Inspect and repair engines, brakes, steering, transmissions, hydraulics, tyres, forks, chains and lifting mechanisms.
• Repair or replace faulty components, troubleshoot electrical systems, batteries, starters, alternators and control systems.
• Maintain hydraulic systems, cylinders, pumps, hoses and valves; perform oil changes, lubrication and filter replacements.
• Test forklifts after repairs, respond promptly to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.
• Conduct safety inspections, keep accurate repair records and ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and workplace safety requirements.

Required profile

• Experience working with forklifts or similar material‑handling equipment.
• Ability to work closely with forklift operators to identify and resolve equipment problems.
