General Nurse – Multiple Locations in Ghana

About the role

The Ghana Armed Forces Medical Services (GAFMS) is seeking qualified General Nurses to join its state‑of‑the‑art medical facilities across Accra, Kumasi, Sunyani, Takoradi, Ho, Tema and Tamale. Nurses will be placed in 37 Military Hospital and various medical centres, providing high‑quality care in critical care, peri‑operative, ophthalmic and emergency settings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient treatment.
• Provide specialised care as a Critical Care, Peri‑operative, Ophthalmic or Emergency Nurse according to the assigned unit.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe and effective patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to GAFMS clinical protocols.
• Participate in continuous professional development and mandatory rotations.

Required profile

• Valid registration with the Nurses’ & Midwives Council of Ghana.
• First degree or diploma in Nursing; additional diploma or advanced diploma in the relevant specialty (Critical Care, Peri‑operative, Ophthalmic, Emergency).
• Completion of the mandatory rotation as stipulated by GAFMS.
• Demonstrated competence and experience in a hospital setting.
