Geomatic Surveyor

About the role

Asteel Construction Limited is hiring a full-time Geomatic Surveyor based in Accra. The surveyor carries out topographic, boundary and engineering surveys on construction sites, sets out works and prepares survey drawings and reports.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct topographic, boundary and engineering surveys on construction sites.
• Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks and reference levels.
• Carry out setting-out surveys so construction works align with approved drawings and specifications.
• Perform as-built surveys to check completed works against design drawings.
• Calculate land areas, elevations, distances and earthwork volumes.
• Prepare survey plans, drawings, maps and technical reports.
• Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as total stations and GNSS/GPS receivers.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other surveying software to process field data and produce drawings.
• Work with site engineers, project managers and other technical teams, and report discrepancies between survey data, drawings and site conditions.
• Ensure measurements and records are accurate, documented and compliant with surveying standards, project specifications and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Geomatic (Geodetic) Engineering, Land Surveying or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in construction or engineering projects.
• Proficiency with total stations, GNSS/GPS equipment and modern surveying instruments.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and surveying software.
• Strong knowledge of topographic surveying, construction setting-out, coordinate systems and elevation measurements.
• Ability to interpret engineering and construction drawings; good analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and good communication and teamwork skills.
• A valid professional surveying license or registration is an added advantage.
