Governance, Risk & Compliance Director

About the role

The Governance, Risk & Compliance Director will support the National Director in delivering effective board governance, risk oversight and legal compliance for World Vision Ghana. This senior role ensures that board processes meet Ghanaian legal requirements and that organizational risk, compliance and security frameworks are robust and aligned with World Vision standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide company secretarial services to the World Vision Ghana Intermediate Board, including meeting organization, minute keeping and action‑plan follow‑up.
• Maintain policy and regulation inventories and lead the annual Integrated Compliance Monitoring Tool (ICMT) process.
• Supervise the National Office Risk, Compliance & Legal functions, ensuring risks are minimized and policies are enforced.
• Coordinate board updates, quarterly reports and board committee meetings in line with governance work plans.
• Lead the development and implementation of governance, risk and compliance policies and procedures.
• Oversee security measures for national programs, establishing systems to embed a culture of safety and operational risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Significant experience in governance, risk management, compliance or legal functions, preferably within the non‑profit sector.
• Strong knowledge of Ghanaian corporate and regulatory law as it applies to board governance.
• Proven ability to develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures.
• Leadership experience supervising cross‑functional risk, compliance and legal teams.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills for board liaison and stakeholder coordination.
