Graphic Design Intern – UNIC Accra

About the role

The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Accra is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to support visual communication projects that promote the UN agenda, especially the Sustainable Development Goals. The internship is full‑time, on‑site, and lasts 3‑6 months.

Key responsibilities

• Design infographics, layouts, covers, and visual templates for documents, newsletters, brochures, banners, posters, flyers and booklets.
• Prepare print‑ready packages and assist with printing of publications, reports and other communication products.
• Create graphic templates for reports and presentations, and develop animations for illustrative purposes.
• Maintain design assets in InDesign, CorelDraw, Publisher, Word and PowerPoint.
• Provide videographic and photographic support, and manage the photo and video library.
• Contribute creative ideas for print, web and interactive presentations, including new media solutions.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or completed a graduate program, or in the final year of a bachelor’s degree in Communication, Graphic Design, Multimedia or a related field.
• Fluency in English and French; knowledge of another UN language is a plus.
• Interest in information integrity, countering misinformation and ethical digital communications.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), CapCut or similar multimedia editing tools.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and digital collaboration tools.
• Experience creating animations and handling video/photo editing.
• Familiarity with major social media platforms and digital engagement practices.
