Hardware Technician – Mining Systems Support

About the role

Hexagon is seeking a Hardware Technician to provide on‑site and remote support for mining system hardware. The role involves deploying new and upgraded equipment at customer mine sites, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Define and review project proposals and plans with colleagues and customers.
• Execute project phases, determine specifications, and prepare cost estimates.
• Load basic configurations, upgrades and operating systems onto field and server equipment following change‑management procedures.
• Maintain project data, administer service agreements and monitor progress.
• Serve as escalation point for technical issues beyond the Project Engineers’ scope.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure efficient deployment of mining systems.
• Identify business risks, inefficiencies and market solutions that improve the project cycle.

Required profile

• Strong high‑level knowledge of mining hardware systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and configure system software and operating systems.
• Experience working on site‑based deployments and remote support.
• Good understanding of project management processes and change management.
