Head of Actuarial

About the role

Prudential is seeking a senior leader to head its Actuarial function in Ghana, driving product development, pricing, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead product development, pricing, competitor analysis and present recommendations to local and regional stakeholders.
• Support IFRS 17 compliance by setting assumptions, developing models and reporting.
• Oversee actuarial services for reserving, financial reporting, reinsurance and embedded value reporting.
• Participate in strategy development and provide actuarial inputs for the annual three‑year plan.
• Review experience trends, set assumptions and assess impacts on key metrics.
• Develop and roll‑out the Prophet actuarial system.
• Assist in solvency assessments and asset‑liability matching.
• Lead, develop and manage a team of actuarial analysts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in actuarial leadership, preferably within insurance.
• Strong understanding of IFRS 17, reserving, reinsurance and solvency assessment.
• Ability to translate actuarial analysis into strategic business recommendations.
• Experience managing and developing actuarial teams.
• Effective liaison with local, regional and group stakeholders.
