Head of Clinical Sciences

About the role
The Head of Clinical Sciences will provide strategic academic and administrative leadership for the department while delivering clinical services at the upcoming Central University Hospital. This senior role also involves teaching and supervising medical students and fostering collaborations with external hospital partners.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the Clinical Sciences department in academic planning, curriculum development, and research initiatives.
- Provide clinical services at the Central University Hospital once operational.
- Teach, mentor, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with external hospitals and clinical faculties.
- Fulfill duties expected of a senior academic member, including committee work and policy development.
- Execute additional tasks assigned by the Dean or Vice‑Chancellor.
Required profile
- Rank of Senior Lecturer or higher at a recognised tertiary institution, or a minimum of 7 years clinical practice in public or private settings.
- PhD, terminal degree (fellowship) or membership qualification from a recognised professional body in Internal Medicine, Accident & Emergency Medicine, or Family Medicine.
- Demonstrated experience in academic leadership, clinical service delivery, and medical education.
- Ability to collaborate with external partners and contribute to university governance.
