Head of Grants and Consultancy

About the role

The University of Cape Coast is seeking a senior leader to head its Grants and Consultancy unit. Reporting to the Director of Research, Innovation, and Outreach, the Head of Grants and Consultancy will drive resource mobilisation, expand consultancy services, and ensure high‑quality delivery of funded projects.

Key responsibilities

• Translate the institute’s strategic vision into actionable work plans to diversify revenue through grant acquisition and consultancy contracts.
• Lead the development, writing, and editing of complex multi‑year grant proposals and consultancy expressions of interest.
• Maintain a proactive tracking system for upcoming funding opportunities, tenders, and donor calls.
• Support stakeholder engagement with bilateral/multilateral donors, civil society organisations, and institutional partners.
• Oversee implementation of secured grants and consultancies, ensuring compliance with contractual deliverables and timelines.
• Monitor donor compliance frameworks, coordinate with finance for budgeting, expenditure tracking, and financial reporting.
• Build capacity of research associates, academic staff, and unit members through mentorship and training.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 5 years of experience in grant management, consultancy development, or related research administration.
• Proven track record of successful high‑value proposal development and donor engagement.
• Strong understanding of compliance, risk management, and financial oversight in funded projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
