Health and Safety Manager

About the role

The Health and Safety Manager will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) management system. The role ensures compliance with Ghana occupational health and safety legislation and drives a strong safety culture across all operational areas.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the HSE management system, policies, procedures and annual objectives.
• Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses, and put in place control measures.
• Carry out regular safety inspections and audits in production, warehouse, maintenance and logistics areas.
• Lead investigations of accidents, near‑misses and incidents, determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Design and deliver safety training, inductions and emergency drills for employees and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with Ghana HSE laws, coordinate with regulators and maintain all required licences and records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering or related field.
• 5‑8 years of HSE experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Ghana occupational health and safety regulations and ISO 45001.
• Professional HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH or OSHA are highly preferred.
