HR Manager – International School (Accra, Ghana)

About the role

The International School HR Manager will lead end‑to‑end human‑resources processes for staff at an international school in the Greater Accra Region. This full‑time, on‑site position supports recruitment, onboarding, contract administration and employee record management while ensuring compliance with Ghanaian labour law and international school standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full recruitment cycle for local and expatriate staff, including job posting, interviewing and selection.
• Coordinate onboarding, visa and work‑permit processes, and relocation logistics for international hires.
• Maintain accurate personnel files, HR databases and contract records.
• Support performance‑review cycles and organise training or orientation sessions.
• Provide day‑to‑day HR advice, respond to staff inquiries and ensure confidentiality.
• Monitor compliance with Ghanaian employment regulations and school policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education Management or related field; HR certification a plus.
• 3‑5 years of HR experience in an educational or service‑oriented environment, preferably within an international school.
• Strong knowledge of Ghana labour law and experience with international staff assignments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with a multicultural team.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR information systems and document‑management tools.
• Advanced use of MS Office applications.
• Familiarity with Google Workspace.
