Human Interest Editor (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Human Interest Editor to join our digital newsroom. The role involves producing timely, engaging, and accurate human‑interest stories that meet YEN’s editorial standards and resonate with our audience.

Key responsibilities

• Publish at least six stories per day, adhering to YEN’s style guide and platform policies.
• Secure a minimum of five exclusive comment‑based stories each week.
• Fact‑check all reports to ensure credibility and editorial integrity.
• Write SEO‑friendly headlines and pair stories with high‑quality visuals.
• Create picture‑post designs using approved Canva templates and post on Facebook daily.
• Monitor news, trends, and social media to pitch relevant story ideas.
• Participate in editorial meetings, planning sessions, and performance reviews.
• Cover at least one weekend shift per month as part of the rotation schedule.

Required profile

• University degree in journalism, media studies, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in human‑interest reporting or a similar role.
• Excellent command of English, verified through testing.
• Reliable laptop/PC, stable internet connection, and ability to work remotely.

• Canva for picture‑post design.
• SEO techniques for headline optimization.
• Proficiency with social‑media platforms such as Facebook and Google.
