Instrumentation Foreman

About the role

The Instrumentation Foreman will lead the installation, maintenance, repair and calibration of instrumentation and control systems at the Iduapriem Gold Mine. Reporting to the Engineering Department, the role ensures equipment reliability and compliance with OEM specifications and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain and calibrate instrumentation and control equipment on scheduled assets.
• Diagnose and repair instrumentation, control panels, starters and related electrical components.
• Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation faults to minimise downtime.
• Monitor high‑voltage system performance and support maintenance of transformers, switchgear and substations.
• Prepare and complete safe work permits, apply lock‑out procedures and adhere to ISO and OSHAS safety standards.

Required profile

• HND in Electrical Engineering or a recognized certificate in Instrumentation and Control Systems.
• Inspecting Engineer Certification from the Mineral Commission.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years on CIL or milling plant instruments.

Required skills

• Instrumentation installation, maintenance and calibration.
• PLC configuration and programming.
• High‑voltage system monitoring and transformer, switchgear, substation upkeep.
• Calibration of radioactive sources, flowmeters and load cells.
• Electrical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
