Internal Audit Assistant (Hospitality)

About the role

The Internal Audit Assistant will join the internal audit team at Western Serene Atlantic Hotel in Takoradi. This full‑time, on‑site position supports the planning and execution of audit reviews across financial, operational and compliance areas, helping to safeguard the hotel’s assets and improve processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing and conducting audit engagements covering finance, operations and regulatory compliance.
• Gather, analyse and verify data, documentation and transaction records.
• Test internal controls, identify gaps and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare clear workpapers, audit findings and summary reports.
• Follow up with department heads to ensure implementation of audit recommendations.
• Maintain accurate audit records and support ongoing compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Good organizational and time‑management skills to handle multiple assignments.
• Effective communication skills for presenting findings to cross‑functional teams.
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Audit, Business Administration or a related field.
• Previous internship or work experience in audit, finance or hospitality operations is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles, internal control concepts and risk assessment techniques.
