IT Applications Specialist (Operations)

About the role

Reporting to the IT Applications Manager, the IT Applications Specialist (Operations) will drive the delivery of operations‑focused SAP projects and act as a key business partner for the Operations area. The role centres on SAP MTD and PTP modules (MM, PP, PM, QM, WM) and provides end‑user support while shaping the future Operations landscape.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of SAP projects, from requirements gathering through testing, training and go‑live.
• Participate in defining business requirements and perform gap analysis between Operations needs and SAP MTD/PTP standard functionalities.
• Serve as the first point of escalation for applications and IT/business process issues.
• Collaborate with global and local Operations process owners to design and implement future‑ready processes.
• Provide guidance to business partners on system capabilities and current process challenges.
• Assist the support team in assessing impact, urgency and criticality of incidents and improvement requests.
• Deliver regular end‑user training and maintain up‑to‑date documentation.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the IT Operations area.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Business Technology.
• Minimum five years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the FMCG industry.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with SAP H4HANA/ECC, specifically MTD/PTP modules (MM, PP, QM, PM, WM).
• Strong understanding of Operations and manufacturing business processes.
• Proven project‑management experience with a track record of on‑time delivery.
• Mandatory certification in one of the SAP operations modules.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
