IT Network Administrator

About the role

The IT Network Administrator will own the design, deployment and ongoing management of Telecel Ghana’s data network infrastructure. This includes wide‑area network (WAN) connectivity between the data centre and remote offices, as well as local area networks (LAN) at each site.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and decision‑making for WAN, LAN, and MAN environments.
• Consult on requirements definition, specification, design, development and integration of complex network projects.
• Develop business cases, cost‑benefit analyses and justify IT spending for network initiatives.
• Manage project deployments, review architecture plans and ensure delivery meets specifications.
• Monitor, maintain, upgrade and support routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, Wi‑Fi, and related hardware/software.
• Define and communicate network standards, principles and directions to meet user and company needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of data‑network experience, including at least 3 years in a technical management role.
• Proven experience with network security tools, VPN technologies, routing, switching and bridging.
• Hands‑on knowledge of SMART monitoring, IP‑MPLS, firewalls, load balancers and Wi‑Fi solutions.
• Ability to work in a fast‑changing, global telecom environment.
