About the role
Orgmento, a software engineering and data sciences consultancy in Ghana, is hiring a Junior Software Engineer for a National Service Personnel position. This role requires a grounded understanding of computer coding and software development.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software applications and systems.
- Code, test, and debug software programs.
- Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting of existing systems.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software engineering.
Required profile
- Very fast learner with a positive, can‑do attitude to problem‑solving.
- Relentless when code goes wrong – seeks to understand, fix, and prevent issues.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a computing‑related subject (e.g., Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Electronics Engineering, Physics, Information Systems/Technology).
- Enjoy the technical challenge of writing, debugging and testing code.
- Demonstrated growth through personal projects, hackathons, GitHub collaborations or group projects.
- Committed to a career in software engineering or computing.
Required skills
- Demonstrable exposure to software development and programming.
- Proficiency in at least one language such as Python, C, C++, C# or Java.
- Familiarity with development tools like Git/GitHub, JIRA, Eclipse, Visual Studio or VS Code.
- Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
