Lead Long Term Planning (Open Pit)

About the role

Lead the development and execution of integrated open‑pit long‑term mine plans that support five‑year and Life of Mine business objectives, reserves and resources deliverables, and inform enterprise, exploration and capital investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate optimised open‑pit mine designs and detailed phase designs defining the sequence of mining activities over the Life of Mine.
• Develop and maintain integrated long‑term mine plans, five‑year production plans, development milestones and closure activities.
• Lead the site‑specific open‑pit planning team to deliver accurate budgets and conduct scenario analysis to support strategic decision‑making.
• Lead mineral reserves and resources estimation in line with international reporting standards and integrate ESG considerations into long‑term planning.
• Present mine and phase designs, options and Life of Mine schedules for stakeholder review and incorporate new data and strategic changes.

Required profile

• Degree in Mining Engineering or related field and recognised Qualified Person for mineral reserves and resources reporting.
• 5‑8 years of hands‑on open‑pit mine planning experience, including short/medium‑term and long‑term planning.
• Proven people‑leadership skills: allocate work, coach team members, build inclusive environment and influence multidisciplinary site leadership.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with open‑pit mine planning software such as MineSight, Vulcan or Deswik.
• Functional cost modelling and related tools.
• Strong technical report writing and ability to communicate concepts to senior leadership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
