About the role

The Institute for Oil and Gas Studies at the University of Cape Coast seeks a qualified Lecturer to join its Faculty of Social Sciences. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research, and supervision in areas such as Energy Economics, Petroleum Engineering, and Natural Resource Law.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver undergraduate and graduate lectures in assigned energy and petroleum subjects.
  • Supervise undergraduate research projects and theses.
  • Develop and lead research initiatives aligned with the institute’s focus.
  • Engage with industry partners to integrate practical insights into coursework.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and academic committees.

Required profile

  • Ph.D. in Energy/Petroleum Economics, Petroleum/Natural Gas Engineering, Petroleum Commerce, Natural Resource Law, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum two years experience as an Assistant Lecturer at a recognized institution.
  • Strong research record and professional experience in the energy sector.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Maximum age of 50 years.
