Lecturer – Vocational & Technical Education (Engineering & Food Sciences)

About the role

The Department of Vocational and Technical Education at the University of Cape Coast invites applications for a tenure‑track Lecturer position. The role involves teaching, research and supervision across a range of engineering and food‑related programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in the assigned discipline(s).
• Develop and update curricula to reflect current industry standards.
• Conduct high‑quality research and publish findings in reputable journals.
• Supervise undergraduate research projects and theses.
• Participate in departmental committees, community outreach and professional development activities.

Required profile

• PhD in one or more of the listed fields (e.g., Wood Technology, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Family Ecology and Management, Food and Nutrition) or a closely related area.
• Minimum two (2) years experience as an Assistant Lecturer at a recognised institution.
• Strong research background and professional experience in the relevant discipline.
• Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and a collegial learning environment.
• Maximum age of 50 years.

Required skills

• Subject‑matter expertise in at least one of the listed engineering or nutrition areas.
• Ability to design and deliver effective teaching sessions.
• Experience supervising undergraduate research work.
