Lubrication Technician – Process Plant

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti Ghana is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, fully mechanised operation. We are looking for an experienced Lubrication Technician to join the Process Plant team and ensure all equipment is lubricated to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective lubrication on all process plant equipment following Total Fluid Management standards.
• Coordinate inventory, order lubricants, and manage stock locations.
• Drain, clean, fill, and top‑off reservoirs; change filters, breathers, and operate filtration equipment.
• Maintain manual and automatic dispensing equipment, label and tag reservoirs and containers.
• Update scheduling systems, generate work orders, and document lubrication activities.
• Conduct field‑level oil analysis (crackle, viscosity, demulsibility, blotter) and evaluate results for predictive maintenance.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities, propose savings projects, and monitor equipment health on the asset health system.
• Report safety or reliability concerns directly to the Reliability Engineer and halt unsafe equipment.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum five years of mining industry experience, with at least two to three years in a process plant environment.
• Familiarity with Ghana Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical) Regulations.
• Valid Inspecting/Operating Certificate of Competency issued by Mincom.
