Maintenance Specialist – Process Plant

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is redeveloping the Obuasi Gold Mine into a modern, fully mechanised operation. We are looking for an experienced, self‑motivated Maintenance Specialist to ensure the process plant runs safely, efficiently and with maximum availability.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain production and quality by monitoring and controlling mechanical equipment to standard.
• Ensure safety of yourself, supervisors and contractors; aim for zero injuries and zero reportable environmental incidents.
• Coordinate task allocation, monitor work quality of technicians and contractors, and provide guidance and feedback.
• Administer and resolve all technical maintenance issues, including capital improvement projects.
• Use SAP and the work‑management system to record work orders, defects and maintenance data accurately.
• Conduct regular safety audits, troubleshoot plant equipment and implement corrective actions.
• Train maintenance supervisors and technicians, and develop short‑ and long‑term maintenance programmes within budget.
• Liaise with supervisors to maintain assets such as crushers, conveyors, pumps, SAG mills, ball mills, screens, feeders, cranes, hoists, cyclones, compressors, blowers, tailings facilities and associated steelworks.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or mining environment.
• Strong safety focus with a track record of zero‑injury objectives.
• Ability to coordinate technicians, contractors and service providers.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and capable of working independently.

Required skills

• SAP (maintenance module) and work‑management systems.
• Mechanical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
• Capital project coordination and documentation.
